Use Your Voice

How do you begin to use your voice?

Last year for 18 months, I learnt from the 13 Original Clan Mothers, about the 13 female archetypes of the Native American Dreamtime. One week I specifically worked with the 6th Clan Mother – Tells Stories.

Tells stories encourages us to use our voice, share our stories, learn of who we are from the stories of our past and tell of our past to our children so that they can learn of themselves.

And she brought me so much wisdom!

I’ve been practising using my own voice VERY hard! I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone and speaking my truth, consciously, over the past while.

And it’s scary, but so freaking liberating!

I’ve allowed myself to say what needs to be said – my truth – despite how awkward the other may feel, how surprised the other may feel or how annoyed the other may feel.

My voice can absolutely trigger others, that’s their choice to make. That’s ok.

But my voice is my truth and after a lifetime of people-pleasing, I think I’m going to enjoy the new freedom it brings {once it all becomes a bit easier. 😬😅}

Use Your Voice* is one of the 12 Pillars of Braincare.

Without it, we can’t possibly function at our best.

Imagine yourself in a lie detector test – Every time you agreed with or partook in something you didn’t agree with or didn’t speak up for what feels right that lie detector scribbles madly.

Imagine your bodies physical response every time you don’t speak your truth!

Using your voice is more than just a sign of your confidence. It affects your body, your nervous system, your brain.

Starting to use your voice to speak your truth, bit by bit, is empowering. And remarkable.

And I’m only just starting. I’ll let who know how I go with it 😘

*Voice refers to truth, you can absolutely use your voice if you are non-speaking or mostly non-speaking.

Xxx

NB. The teachings of the Clan Mothers comes from Jamie Sams and through her two Kiowa Grandmothers. She specifically expresses her desire to share this information with the world, stating “it is now time for me to pass this gift to the Sisterhood of Humankind”. In this way, I respectfully share of her teachings and offer gratitude for the wisdom.
