“They” tell us how to swaddle our baby!
But they don’t tell us a firm wrap offers proprioceptive input, which helps keep their brain calm.
“They” tell us to hold our baby close.
But the don’t tell us that the beat of our heart against theirs will help to regulate them when they’re in a heightened state.
“They” tell us about the terrible twos.
But they don’t tell us that in the twos (or 3’s or 4’s!) children haven’t developed executive functioning yet.
That they literally can’t inhibit their behaviours, learn from their mistakes or listen to you when you’re talking to them.
“They” tell us a lot.
But they don’t tell us the why’s!
And the why’s, are what we need to know more of xxx
Understanding your child’s brain = understanding your child.

Lifestyles that pull back from information, that include sensory breaks, that focus on vagal tone, self-expression and so much more.
A lifestyle change that is so so so needed. Not just for our children, but for us!
