It’s not just a childhood thing you know, to feel unbearable prickles in your clothes.
The tag, the hem, the cuffs, the waist, the belt, the socks, the scratches, the tickles, the tightness, the brushing, the tickling… clothes can feel horrendous, completely horrendous! For SO many of us!!
Research (by Alice Carter, in 2009) has estimated that 1 in 6 of us experience sensory difficulties that effect our daily living. ONE IN SIX. Yeah, you heard right. That’s a LOT of sensory stuff we are dealing with in every classroom, in every workplace, everyday. And that’s a serious amount of prickles.
And whilst kids are refusing clothes and shoes, us adults? We’re walking around like it just ain’t no thang. And that’s doing *wonders* (terrible things) to our anxiety levels.
Want to know more about our sensory systems and how they are effecting our every day behaviours?
