In the Brain Care Cafe, we are giving our brain MORE of what helps it run and LESS of what shuts it down. This *has* to be a part of our daily lifestyle.
It’s the continuity of care that gives our brain a higher capacity to cope with the shit times!
Kind of like vitamins and minerals.
We don’t take them once we are already sick (ok, we secretly do, but we know it’s not gonna work).
It’s taking them every day that helps us stay strong enough to maintain our health, and our brain is no different.
Brain care = A brain that can function at its best.
Many years ago my daughter used to be freaked out by the organ (the instrument that is) because she thought it was an actual ORGAN (as in a lung or a kidney). ⠀
😂😂 cute. But if it WAS an actual organ? My guess is it’d be the brain.⠀
Music is one of the biological languages of the brain. Elements of music are involved in all its functions. Take rhythm for example. Neuro transmission, the very core of how our brain works is a series of rhythmic movements. Music!⠀
Melody, the movement of tune, is intrinsically involved in our emotional processing and ability to release. ⠀
And rhythm and melody are only the basics. There is so much more going on when you really start to understand the Music/Brain relationship.
I use music as a form of Brain Care.
It helps me to regulate, it slows me down, keeps me engaged in the world the way I want to be, improves my mood, frees my voice, keeps me feeling safe.⠀
You can use music as brain care too. Be strategic, understand the therapeutic value and access music in a way that will support you to thrive, as opposed to simply keeping you entertained.⠀
We do this in The Brain Care Cafe – my online membership. It’s one of my favourite places to be, and together we support each other to make music and make a change. It’s a beautiful community and we love inviting new members.⠀
You’ll find more info here. You’re welcome to join, either for a month, or a few months, or a year, or more.⠀
Join the waitlist and be notified when the Cafe opens again.
