Adult friendly Sensory Kits – DIY

We hear a lot about sensory kits, right?

The fluffy blanky, the colourful slime, the gloop, the fidget tools…

But hang on a sec, where are all the great resources on adult friendly sensory kits!?

Grown ups have needs too you know!

So I’ve decided to get the ball rolling on some of my favourite sensory tools and I’d love your contributions so we can make this list (see below vid) long and extensive with plenty of choices to try out! Throw your ideas in the comments with your link and I’ll credit you as we go…

ADULT FRIENDLY SENSORY KIT

Craft – keeps your fingers moving and your attention focused which can help block out surrounding stimulus

Head scarfe – for proprioceptive input and to block out noises

Music/Headphones – to block out noise, to calm, to refocus, to assist with emotional regulation

Hot drink – offers tactile, gustatory and olfactory input, (touch, taste and smell)

Theraputty – for proprioceptice and tactile input, can be used as a fidget tool

Beach Rocks – for proprioceptive and tactile input, can be used as fidget tools

Essential oils – calming/stimulating, olfactory input, can block out annoying smells and tastes

Chanting – calming, can be used to regulate movements, beads offer tactile input, can be used as fidget tool

Chewing Gum – proprioceptive, olfactory, gustatory, tactile and auditory input
